How did I get here?

This past was a roller coaster to say the least. Thanksgiving was good, but a person I knew passed away, so it was...a week. So I asked myself last night how I got here to a place where I felt good about the week as a whole, and it all goes back to earlier that day(which was yesterday, Sunday).

My parents, sister, and my sister's son came over to have a sort of party for my sister's birthday(which is 6 days away now). Anytime I can spend with them and my wife Theresa is always awesome, but this day was even better than the others. As we waited for the time my dad and I could go get the pizza we ordered, I decided at the age of 2 my nephew was ready to hit the jump button as I used the d-pad to move Mario across world 1-1 in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. About 5 minutes earlier I taught him what a Yoshi was and he carried around a little Yoshi action figure I own all day. This is all part of my plan to make him as big of a geek as I am and I plan on furthering this plan by getting him some V-Tech stuff and maybe his own Yoshi action figure.
But the best part of the day was after a great couple of hands of UNO where my wife and sister used the cards in their hands to teach my nephew his colors and numbers, my dad and I worked on getting my nephew to say O-H-I-O to anyone who would listen. This is made even funnier because my sister is a massive University of Michigan fan and they lost bad to THE Ohio State University the day before. Because of that and the "love you" I got for him, my nephew is the coolest person I know, and mark my words, he will be a geek before my time on this earth is through.

So as I sit here at my computer today and read this little piece of narration about yesterday, I am so happy that my family came over and made my week just better by their coming over to hang out with Theresa and I. I want to end this entry by saying I love you too Jay and you can come over and hang out with Mario, Yoshi and I anytime you want.
